Juice, orange, sweetened, no added vitamin C
Proximates were derived from a composite sample of 6 purchases of 4 brands of juice, purchased in Adelaide in December 1989 (3x Berri, 1x Nippys, 1x Sunburst, 1x Home Brand). Vitamin C was determined only in those purchases labelled as having no added vitamin C. Heavy metal data were averaged from the 19th, 20th and 22nd ATDS. Iodine, Na, K, Ca, Fe, P, Mn, Cr, Ni, Mo, Se were determined in 2 composite samples in each NSW, ACT, SA, WA and NT in November 2004 (22nd ATDS). Fructose, glucose, tocopherols, folates, iodine, starch, pyridoxine were determined in a composite sample of 8 purchases (2xBerri, 2xJust Juice, 2xP&N, 1xFarmland, 1xGolden Circle) in Melbourne in late 2005. Alpha tocopherol also determined in a composite of 8 purchases (Australian Fresh, Daily Juice, Mr Juicy, Quelch, Berri, Just Juice, Golden Circle, Valencia) in Melbourne in February 1998. Fibre determined only in these samples.
