Doughnut, iced

Sweet dough made from yeast, water, milk, sugar, butter, flour, and eggs that is extruded into a ring shape and deep fried in oil. Topped with icing after cooking. Contains added folate.

Na, fat and fatty acids were derived from 3 individual samples of iced doughnuts purchased in WA and SA in 2009 (2008 TFA program). I was derived from 1 individual samples of iced doughnuts purchased in SA as part of the same program. The remaining nutrients were derived from a composite sample of 6 purchases of iced doughnuts purchased in Adelaide in 1988. Dietary fibre value is imputed from values for similar foods. Atoc, S, Se, Cl, F, pantothenate, B6 and biotin, were derived from a composite sample of 8 purchases of iced doughnuts in Adelaide in 1993. Folic acid estimated using the approximate flour content of bread and the folic acid content of flour for bread making after taking into account baking losses (200 ug/100 g).
