Commercially prepared Indian style butter chicken sauce. Commonly contains water, tomatoes, onions, vegetable oil, cream, butter, sugar, salt, spices, garlic, chilli and colour.

Na, I, fat and fatty acids were derived from 1 sample of butter chicken sauce purchased in NSW in 2009 (2008 TFA program). Proximates, vitamins and minerals were derived from a composite sample of 5 brands (Taylors Kashmiri butter chicken; Sherwoods Butter chicken mild medium; Continental - Indian tonight Butter chicken; Pataks Butter chicken simmer sauce) of butter chicken sauce purchased from supermarkets and specialty shops in central, eastern and western suburbs of Sydney between July-September 2005.
