The majority of nutrients were derived from a composite sample of six purchases of 1 brand of vegetable shortening (Copha), purchased in 1990 in Adelaide. Sugars, starch, dietary fibre, cholesterol, vitamin C and carbohydrate total were imputed, based on international literature. Note that the retinol value reported in this record is as reported by the analyst although retinol is not generally found in vegetable fats.
