Biscuit, savoury, wholemeal wheat flour, with sesame

Commercially prepared savoury cracker-style biscuits made from wholemeal wheat flour, with added sesame seeds and added fat (approximately 15%).

Fatty acids, sugars, vitamins and minerals were derived from a composite sample of 4 types of crackers (Vita-Weat Sesame Crispbread, Arnotts Sesame Wheat Biscuit and Nabisco Sesawheat low salt wholemeal crackers, Wheatsworth Stone Ground Crackers) purchased in Adelaide (1988 - Savoury Biscuits). Sugars, fatty acids and some minerals were derived from a composite sample of 7 types of crackers (Arnotts Krispy Wheat, PS, Sesame and Wheat, Nabisco Sesa-wheat, Wheat Toasts, Wheatsworth, and Peak Freans Sesame Vita-Weat) purchased in Sydney (1989 - UNSW - Sweet and Savoury Foods). Na, Cl, Se, S, F, ATOC, B6, pantothenate and biotin were derived from a composite sample of 4 types of crackers (Paradise Sesame Poppy Cracker, Arnotts Sesame Wheat, Arnotts Sesame Vita-Weat and Lanes Wheatworth stone ground pepper) purchased in SA (1993 Cereal Catch Up Program). I, Se, Cr, Ni and Mo were determined in 6 samples of various styles of savoury biscuit purchased in Qld, SA and WA in November 2004 (22nd ATDS). Vit C was imputed from international literature.
