Apricot, dried

Small, orange-coloured stone fruit dried prior to packaging. May be treated to prevent browning.

The majority of nutrients including proximates, vitamins and minerals were derived from a composite of 6 samples of dried apricot (2x Angas Park, 2x Anchor, 2x Sunbeam) purchased from 3 stores in Adelaide in 1988 (Processed Fruit and Vegetables, 1990). Cl, F, Se, ATOC, B6, biotin, folate and pantothenate were derived from 8 samples of dried apricot (Angus Park, Sunbeam, Letona) purchased in Melbourne in 1998 (ANZFA Folate Project, 1998). Fibre and moisture were averaged from both analyses. Retinol, cholesterol and fatty acids were imputed based on international literature. Note low sum of proximates possibly due to analytical difficulties with the food matrix - data should be used with caution.
