Pizza, supreme, purchased frozen, baked

Commercially produced pizza dough topped with tomato-based sauce, cheese, sausage, capsicum, onion, ham, mushrooms and sometimes olives and beef, frozen before packaging and reheated prior to consumption.

Proximates (except moisture and dietary fibre), fatty acids, Na, K, Ca, Fe, Mg and Zn were derived from 4 analyses from 16 purchases (4x Birds Eye, 4x McCain, 4x Papa Giuseppi and 4x Scotts) of frozen pizza purchased from 4 outlets in Sydney (Greenfield et al. 1982). Cu, Mn, P, Cl, S, F, ATOC, B6, pantothenate and biotin were derived from a composite of 8 samples (2x McCain, 2x Papa Giuseppi, 2x No Frills and 2x Savings) of frozen pizza purchased from 3 outlets in Adelaide in 1993 (1993 cereal catch up program). Dietary fibre, ACAR, B1, B2, B3, BCAR, CRYP, retinol and vitamin C were derived from a composite of 8 samples of pizza (2x McCain, 2x Papa Giuseppi, 4x generic) purchased from 4 outlets in Adelaide (AGAL 1988). Cr, I, Mo, Ni were derived from a composite of 18 samples (6 each from TAS, QLD and VIC) of meat and vegetable pizzas purchased in 2003/4 (22nd ATDS). As, Cd, Hg and Pb were derived from 3 composite samples of 9 purchases of supreme pizzas from each state in 1996, ANZFA (1996). Se was averaged from the 22nd ATDS and 1993 Cereal catch up program. Moisture was averaged from Greenfield (1982), AGAL (1993) and AGAL (1988).
