Proximates (except moisture and dietary fibre), fatty acids, Na, K, Ca, Fe, Mg and Zn were derived from 3 analyses of 7 purchases of pasties (4x unbranded and Bakewell/Tip Top all purchased ready to eat, and Wedgewood purchased frozen and heated in the laboratory) purchased in Sydney (Wills et al. 1981). Cl, Se, S, F, ATOC, B6, pantothenate and biotin were derived from a composite of 8 samples (4x unbranded purchased ready to eat, and Balfours, Foodland, Black & Gold and Gibbs all purchased frozen and heated in the laboratory) purchased from 7 outlets in Adelaide (AGAL 1993). B1, B2, B3, retinol, BCAR and vitamin C were derived from a composite sample of 3 unbranded products purchased ready to eat in Sydney in 1983 (Wills et al. 1985). Moisture was averaged from Wills et al. (1981) and AGAL (1993).
