Oats, rolled, boiled, no added salt

Crushed grain produced by steaming and flattening the oats with rollers. Cooked by boiling in unsalted water.

Proximates, sugars, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals were derived from a composite sample of 3 brands of oats (2x Parsons Easi Oats, 2x Blue Lake Rolled Oats and 2x Uncle Tobys Traditional Oats) purchased in Adelaide in 1985 (1987 - AGAL - Seafood and Products, Cereals). Heavy metal data from 19th and 20th ATDS and the 1996 AMBS, determined on samples purchased throughout Australia in 1996, 1998 and 2000-01. Cl, Cu, F, Mn, Na, P, S, Se, moisture, ATOC, B6, biotin and pantothenate were derived from a composite sample of 3 brands of oats purchased in Adelaide in 1993 (93 Cereal Catch up program). Folates were derived from a composite sample of 6 purchases of rolled oats (2x Uncle Tobys Traditional, 2x Uncle Tobys Instant, 1x Lowan, 1x Homebrand) from Sydney in March 2005. Iodine was determined in a composite of 9 samples (3 each from Qld, SA and WA) purchased in August 2004 (22nd ATDS).
