Dairy blend, butter & edible oil spread, 70% fat

A spread that is a blend of approximately two-thirds butter and one-third vegetable oil, generally canola oil. Total fat content is somewhat reduced from regular dairy blend, to around 70%. Contains added salt and vitamins A and D.

Proximates, vitamins, Zn, Mg, Se, S were derived from a composite of 6 samples of one brand (Devondale Dairy Soft) (AGAL 1990). Proximates, vitamins, Zn and Mg were also derived from a composite sample of dairy blend (ADC 1991). Fat, fatty acids and minerals, Ca, Cl, Cr, Fe, I, K, Mn, Mo, Na & P were derived from a composite of 6 samples purchased in NSW, NT and QLD in November 2004 (22nd ATDS). Vitamin D is based on permissions outlined in the Food Standards Code. Moisture content is estimated by difference using revised fat content.
