Strasburg

A cooked and smoked processed meat, commonly containing pork, beef, starch, salt, cereal, sugar, spices, flavour, sodium nitrite/nitrate, preservatives and water.

The majority of nutrients including proximates, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids were derived from a composite sample of 2 brands of strassburg, purchased in Sydney in 1981/82. Vitamins and minerals were also derived from a composite of 6 samples (2x Rosefield, 3x Don, 1x Knoll) purchased from Adelaide supermarkets/delis in 1989 (AGAL 1989).
