Spread, yeast, vegemite

Thick dark brown, salty spread. Concentrated yeast extract made by treating yeast with acid. Contains added salt, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin.

The majority of nutrients including proximates, vitamins, minerals and tryptophan were derived from individual and composite samples of eight purchases of Kraft Vegemite purchased nationally in each state and territory capital city (2008 - KFP). Retinol and cholesterol were imputed as zero based on international literature. Note low sum of proximates (less than 90%) - sample is likely to contain carbohydrates not detected with analytical techniques used.
