The majority of nutrients including proximates, vitamins and minerals were derived from individual and composite samples of 8 purchases of 2 brands (7x Red Bull, 1x V) of energy drink purchased nationally in each state and territory capital city (2008 - KFP). Caffeine was derived from the individual analysis of 10 brands of energy drinks purchased in Victoria in 2002 (Vic Dept of Natural Resources & Environment, 2002). Fatty acids and cholesterol were imputed as 0.
