Sausage roll, commercial, ready to eat, party size
Proximates (dietary fibre), Na, K, Ca, Fe, Mg and Zn were derived from 4 samples (Wedgwood, Farmland, Woolworths and Nannas) purchased in Sydney frozen and heated by the laboratory (Wills et al. 1981). Moisture, Cl, Se, S, F, ATOC, B6, pantothenate and biotin were derived from a composite of 8 samples (2x BiLo, 2x Adams, 2x Gibbs and 2x Cottage Maid) purchased in Adelaide frozen and heated in the laboratory (AGAL 1993). B1, B2, B3, retinol, BCAR and vitamin C were derived from a composite of 10 samples purchased ready to eat and frozen in Sydney in 1983 (Wills et al. 1985). Fatty acids were determined in 5 samples purchased in NSW in 2005. Moisture, iodine, calcium, sodium, potassium and folate were derived from a composite sample of 8 purchases of fresh and frozen/reheated rolls (1x each of unbranded, Brumbies, Savings, Patties, Mrs Quick, Herbert Adams, Four N Twenty and Snowy River) in Melbourne and Canberra in January 2006. Dietary fibre was imputed. Note low sum of proximates - data should be used with caution.
