The majority nutrients including proximates, vitamins and minerals were derived from a composite sample of 4 brands (2x Leggos Pesto-concentrate traditional basil; 1x Barilla Pesto alla genovese; 1x Sacla Italia Classic pesto pasta sauce; 2x Dolmio Basil pesto) of basil pesto sauce purchased from supermarkets and specialty shops in central, eastern and western suburbs of Sydney between July-September 2005.
