Commercially prepared sweet, spicy bottled sauce based on fermented soya beans with other ingredients.

The majority of nutrients including proximates, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids were derived from a composite sample of 6 purchases of different brands (Ayams, Changs, Lee Kum Kee, Pun Chun, Tung Chun, Yeos) of hoi sin sauce, purchased in Sydney in 1991 (Ethnic Foods program). Retinol imputed based on international data.
