Rice, white, raw

Grain that has had its husk, bran and germ removed. The grains after milling have a slight off-white colour. Uncooked.

Some nutrients were derived from a composite sample of 4 brands of rice (1x Sunwhite long grain, 1x Sunlong, 1x Sunwhite calrose and 1x Mahatma) (Wills et al 1982). Folate was derived from a composite sample of 4 brands of rice (2x Koala, 2x Sunwhite, 1x Mahatma and 1x Kings Choice) (1997-98 ANZFA Folate Project). Dietary fibre, Cu, Mn, P, Cl, Se, S, F, ATOC, B6, pantothenate and biotin were derived from a composite samples of 4 brands of rice (2x Sunwhite long grain, 2x Sunlong, 2x Sunwhite calrose and 2x Mahatma) purchased in Adelaide (1993 Cereal catch-up Program). Iodine was derived from a composite sample of rice as part of the 2000 Food comp Program.
