Mixed vegetables, frozen, boiled or microwaved

Mixed vegetables (including carrot, peas, swede, green beans and sweet corn) purchased frozen. Cooked by either boiling in unsalted water then drained or cooked in the microwave.

Proximates, vitamins and minerals were derived from a composite of six purchases (2x BirdsEye, 2x Farmland, 1, McCain and 1xPict) of frozen mixed vegetables from SA in 1988. Proximates, vitamins and minerals were also derived from a composite of 8 purchases (2x McCain, 2x Generic, 2x Heinz and 2x Edgell/BirdsEye) of frozen vegetables in 2005 (AIP). Folate was borrowed from the USDA, record 11584. Retinol, folic acid and cholesterol were imputed.
