Ice cream, regular fat, vanilla flavour

Australian produced vanilla ice cream. Major ingredients include milk, sugar, gums and emulsifiers. Prepared by freezing rapidly with agitation to aerate the ice cream and give a light texture. Includes standard, premium and natural varieties with fat content ~11%. Some analysed samples contain egg yolk.

The majority of nutrients including proximates, vitamins, fatty acids, minerals and tryptophan were derived from a composite of 10 purchases of 4 brands (4x Nestle Peters, 3x Bulla Real Dairy, 2x Streets Blue Ribbon, 1x Black and Gold) of vanilla flavoured ice cream purchased nationally in each state and territory capital city and 2 regional centres in NSW and QLD (2006 - Key Foods Program). Heavy metals, minerals and I were determined in 3 composites (2004 - 22nd ATDS).
