The majority of nutrients were an averages of two composite samples. The first sample was a composite sample of 2 varieties (2x Scandurra- from Australia), purchased from 1 outlet in Sydney and analysed in 1988/89 by AGAL; note that composition of the product is uncertain as ingredients were not recorded). The second sample was a composite 4 samples (Alba Cassata, Alba Mela gelati, Unbranded plain gelato, St Georges Chocolate/Lemon gelato), purchased in January 1996 in Adelaide. B6, biotin, organic acids, vitamin E, Cl, F, Se were determined only in the 1996 samples. Starch is an approximate value to account for presence of a small proportion of sponge cake in some purchases.
