Coffee, instant, dry powder or granules, decaffeinated

Dried extract of decaffeinated coffee beans, used to produce a beverage by the addition of boiling water.

Data prepared for AUSNUT 1999. The majority of nutrients are based on values for regular instant coffee powder. Caffeine was derived from a composite of sample purchased in Victoria in 2002. Fibre borrowed from Denmark, record 0104, and dry matter adjusted. Note: very low sum of proximates and the analysed values do not fully align with recent industry analyses (which are higher in fat, carbohydrates and sugars and lower in protein), which is likely to reflect the difficulties in analysing coffee powder, particularly in relation to carbohydrates. However, these differences are unlikely to be of any nutritional significance.
