Proximates, sugars, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals were derived from a composite sample of 2 fresh baked and 3x packaged fruit cakes (1x Adams Christmas Trad. Light and 1x Farmland light and 1x Generic Brand) purchased in Adelaide (1988 - AGAL - Cakes and Dairy/Cereal Products). Sugars, fatty acids and minerals were derived from a composite sample of packed fruit cakes purchased in Sydney (1989 - UNSW - Cakes and Pastries). Cl, F, S, Se, moisture, Atoc, B1, B3, B6, biotin and pantothenic acid were derived from a composite sample of cakes purchased Adelaide (1993 Cereal Catch Up Program).
