Butter, reduced salt (sodium < 350 mg /100 g)

A product derived exclusively from milk and products obtained from milk, principally in the form of an emulsion of the type water-in-oil, containing no less than 80% milkfat. Reduced in salt compared to regular butter.

Proximates, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids were derived from analysis of individual and composite samples of 3 types of butter (Devondale, Woolworth's Select Creamy Tasmanian and Black and Gold) purchased in supermarkets in NSW, VIC, QLD and TAS in 2008 (2008 KFP). Minerals (K, Na, P, Mn, Fe, Ca, Cl, I, Se, Ni, Mo & Cr) were determined in 6 samples of butter purchased in SA, WA and QLD in November 2004 (22nd ATDS). Dietary fibre & sugars imputed zero. Sodium based on label information available for reduced salt butter in 2010.
